Worrisome : Man Kills And Eats His Wife After Being Stuck In Elevator For 72 Hours

According to the Polokwane Police Department in South Africa, the partially devoured corpse of his wife was lying next to him when he was rescued after being stuck for three days in an elevator.
Mr Ngubane immediately confessed that he had reluctantly killed her and eaten almost 3kgs of her flesh, saying it was necessary to his own survival.
Police Deputy Commissioner Richard De Beer, says the accused clearly felt guilty about his crime
Commissioner De Beer says the accused started crying as soon as he was freed from the elevator and kept repeating “Why did I do it?” Mr Ngubane and his wife, Janet Ngubane, were coming back from the restaurant when they took an elevator to reach the parking lot.
On their way down, the elevator unexpectedly stopped, and the couple was stranded.
Mr Ngubane says he hit the alarm and waited, but nothing happened. He investigated his surroundings, but there was no warning text and no elevator emergency phone in the 6-by-6 box.
Since they didn’t have their cell phones with them, the couple had no way of reaching the outside world.
Hours went by and no one came. Starting to get desperate, the 170-kg man tried to pry the door open, planning to climb down the elevator shaft like Bruce Willis in Die Hard. Instead, he was met with a solid concrete wall with the number 3 stenciled on it.
Being in an express elevator, there was no opening for the floors that weren’t served, and Mr. Ngubane found himself facing 4 floors of solid concrete shaft.
The couple could do nothing but stand there for the rest of the afternoon. And into the night. And then overnight. Then all day the next day.
After about 48 hours, Mr Ngubane says he was suffering from severe dehydration and began fearing for his life.
According to his lawyer, Darrel Nzama, Bruce Ngubane had no other choice than to kill his wife and ingest her flesh and blood if he wanted to survive.
Mr Nzama says his client is in fact a victim and that Ms Ngubane’s death was caused by the negligence of the residential building’s security staff.
Despite his lawyer’s claims, Mr Ngubane now faces a total of 14 charges, including second degree murder and cannibalism. He could face up to 75 years in prison.

Police Raid Senator Goje’s House In Abuja

Officers of the Nigerian Police Force on Thursday evening invaded the home of former Gombe State Governor, Danjuma Goje, in Abuja.

His trial started in 2014 and it has dragged on for almost three years.
Earlier, the spokesperson of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Wilson Uwujaren, refused to clarify if the anti-graft agency was part of the operation, saying he had no information on it.

Jimoh Moshood, the spokesman of the police, could not be reached for comments.
Goje was Gombe Governor from 2003 to 2011.
He was voted into the Senate on the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) ticket and later defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Kenya Moore Finally Reacts To Oge Okoye’s Dog Theft Saga

Kenya Moore in a chat with Jules Uncut has finally reacted to Oge Okoye’s dog theft allegations: “Who does that?”

Recall in March, Nollywood Actress, Oge Okoye was called out for stealing photos of Kenya Moore’s dogs by one of the latter’s Fan page. The actress claimed the dogs were hers and even went as far as naming the dogs, Rob and Rosy.

“Yipee, my new babies just arrived. #Rob#Rosy,” the actress wrote on Instagram.
After reports went viral, she was, of course, dragged to filth by Nigerians to the extent that she had to disable Instagram comments.

In this new interview, the American Actress expressed her surprised at the picture theft,
“I did see it.” adding that “Someone sent me the screenshot and I thought ‘who does that?’ Why would anybody want fake dogs that are not theirs?”
She continued, “I don’t know the actress who did it, so I can’t speak to that – on who she is as a person. But I thought, ‘is this a joke’, and if it is not a joke – why?”
Kenya Moore showed her good heart as she stated that she is ready to help Oge Okoye to get a similar breed of dogs if she can afford it.
“I can definitely provide references for a good breeder should she choose to actually buy a dog,” Moore said, adding, “I got them from a wonderful breeder and they were not cheap. If she has the coins, I can give her reference.”
Talking about D’banj, Kenya said,
“I met D’banj when I came to co-host a concert with him. I’ve been friends with him ever since. He’s a great guy. He’s like my little brother. I love him to death. And I love his music and I always just root for him. He’s always been the nicest guy to me,” she said.

Spain Supreme Court Reviews Messi Tax-fraud Sentence

Spain’s Supreme Court on Thursday started reviewing a 21-month jail sentence handed to Lionel Messi and his father for tax fraud after the Barcelona star lodged an appeal, a spokesman said.

But even if the sentence is maintained, neither Messi nor his father are likely to spend time behind bars, as is common in Spain for first offences for non-violent crimes carrying a sentence of less than two years.

A spokesman for the Supreme Court said the case was being examined by five magistrates, a process that could last several days.

News of the review comes just days before Barcelona face Real Madrid in El Clasico on Sunday with their Spanish league title at stake.

Argentina international Messi and father Jorge Horacio Messi were found guilty last July of using companies in Belize, Britain, Switzerland and Uruguay to avoid paying taxes on 4.16 million euros ($4.5 million) of Messi’s income earned from his image rights from 2007-09.

Messi has always maintained he knew nothing about how his wealth was managed and trusted his father with his finances. His lawyers appealed the sentence.

Messi’s tax fraud trial took place in Barcelona last June against a backdrop of simmering voter anger over steep cuts to health and social spending, as the government struggles to bring Spain’s public deficit down.

The court argued in its ruling that the 29-year-old five-time world player of the year “decided to remain in ignorance” about how his finances were managed.

It added that if the player was not punished, “ordinary” citizens could conclude that it was better to “not show interest” in their tax obligations.

Messi was also fined 2.09 million euros and his father 1.6 million euros.

Two Air Peace Planes Collide At Lagos Airport

Two Air Peace aircraft were grounded at Murtala Muhammed Airport in Lagos on Thursday morning after they collided on the departure ramp.
One of the aircraft, a Boeing 737 with the registration mark 5N-BQR, was being towed for departure before it made contact with the stabilizer of another Air Peace B737 aircraft with the registration mark 5N-BQP.
A spokesman for the airline, Chris Iwarah, confirmed the incident in a statement.
“The points of contact of the two aircraft were only slightly impacted, but we took the cautious decision to declare them unserviceable to enable a proper investigation of the incident,” Mr. Iwarah said.
“There were no passengers on the two aircraft involved in the incident. We have also revised our flight schedule to cater to our esteemed guests on the 14 sectors the two aircraft were scheduled to service today.
“At the moment, everything is working according to plan and our engineers have already begun repair of the aircraft.”
The Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has already commenced investigations into the incident, while the Accident Investigation Bureau (AIB) has also been notified.

Don’t Execute Reverend King – Falana Writes Ambode

Human rights lawyer, Mr. Femi Falana (SAN), has asked Governor Akinwunmi Ambode of Lagos State to commute the death penalty passed on death row inmates in the state to life imprisonment instead of executing them.

Those on death row upon the judgment of the court of Lagos State included the General-Overseer of the Christian Praying Assembly, Chukwuemeka Ezeugo, a.k.a Rev. King.

Falana argued in his letter dated April 19, 2017, and addressed to Governor Ambode that the planned execution of death row inmates in the state would violate a subsisting judgment delivered in 2012 by the High Court of Lagos State which ruled that it was illegal and unconstitutional to execute the condemned inmates.

Falana stated, “On the basis of the valid and subsisting judgment of the Lagos High Court on the illegality of the execution of the death penalty in Lagos State we urge Your Excellency not to sign a death warrant authorising the killing of any condemned prisoner either by hanging, firing squad or any other means whatsoever.

“In the circumstance, Your Excellency may wish to commute the death sentences of all condemned prisoners in Lagos State to life imprisonment forthwith.”

Falana stated, “Although many persons have been convicted for armed robbery and murder and sentenced to death by the Lagos State High Court since 1999 your predecessors did not sign death warrants for the execution of any person on death row.

“Accordingly, all the convicts on death row have had the death sentences imposed on them commuted to life imprisonment.’’

Busted: Canada Police Charge Michelle Omoruyi With Human Smuggling After She Was Intercepted With 9 Refugees From West Africa

A 43-year-old woman, Michelle Omoruyi is facing charges of human smuggling in Regina, Saskatchewan, after she was intercepted on Friday night with nine foreigners from West Africa crossing the border into Canada from the United States.

The Royal Canadian Mounted Police says Omoruyi who was driving a vehicle with the nine people in it after crossing north from the U.S. in an area between the North Portal and Northgate ports of entry, was arrested

She has been charged with one count of human smuggling under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act, and one count of conspiracy to commit human smuggling after a four-month RCMP investigation into asylum seekers crossing into Saskatchewan.

The nine people weren’t harmed, and were all taken into custody by the Canada Border Services Agency. The have since been released and are now claiming refugee status.

Human smuggling in the Saskatchewan region has been investigated since December. Just before Christmas, border agents flagged a man who had been frequently using the North Portal entry for more investigation, and brought in RCMP investigators.

On Friday, U.S. border agents noted that the same man had crossed the border into North Dakota, and alerted the Canadians. That night, RCMP were flagged that a smuggling attempt may be in the works.

By 9 p.m. CST, the RCMP pulled over Omoruyi as she was driving in an isolated area north of the border. The nine asylum seekers were in the vehicle, according to police.

The man involved in the investigation was arrested by U.S. police. He has not been charged. RCMP with the assistance of CBSA and Regina Police, executed a search warrant at the house on Truesdale Drive belonging to the suspect and a significant amount of cash was seized.
“A fair portion of his this currency was foreign currency” said RCMPP Inspector Donovan Fisher.
Omoruyi was subsequently charged and will make her first appearance at Estevan Provincial Court on May 15.

Rivers State Notorious Cultist, ‘supremo’ Declared Wanted

A notorious cultist popularly called ‘Supremo’ in Eleme Local government area of Rivers state, has been declared wanted by the Governor Nyesom Wike-led government on Thursday.
According to reports, ‘Supremo’ was declared wanted after failing to meet the ultimatum given to him by the state Amnesty Committee to drop his arms and embrace amnesty.
Chairman of the Rivers state Amnesty Programme, Ken Chinda directed the security agencies to ensure the arrest of ‘Supremo’.
In the meantime, the Amnesty Committee has suspended its programme at Gokana Local government area of the state.

According to him, “Look at Bomu. Look at what they brought. They brought a toy, what they called gun is not working but when you go into the streets you will see shells of GPMG all over the place. Where is that GPMP, where is the AK 47, where are all the dangerous weapons you have been using for killing and destruction.
“I can see you people have decided to turn this into deceit. Even the Chiefs said there are no weapons. Well, let me tell you the Amnesty programme here has been suspended.
“We give you one extra week to make up your minds for this disarmament if not the Law will take its full course on you people.”
