President, Arewa Christian and Indigenous Pastors’ Association, Jos, Plateaus State, Rev. Luke Shehu, has urged Christian youths to stop watching western movies that would not add value to their lives. Shehu made this call in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria on Wednesday in Abuja.

He said the association was planning to go into movie production to help add value to Christian youths in the country. He said such movies would project the image, culture and heritage of the youths in the north, instead of the western movies that would not promote their identities and values as Christians.

According to the cleric, the youths need to change their mindset from the western movies that can “corrupt their minds.”

“Most of these western movies are full of immoral acts that would not add anything good to their lives. “We hope to go into Christian movie production and we hope this will help add value to our growing youths who have hot taste for western movies.

“We want them to stop watching movies that do not add value, but full of immoralities,” Shehu said.

He also condemned some Nigerian movies which he said “do not add Christian values to our youths.”

“We hope to have a film that will project the image, the culture and the heritage of these tribal Christians,’’ he said…
